Slippery-sticky transition of interfacial fluid slip

چکیده
The influence of temperature on interfacial fluid slip, as measured by molecular-dynamics simulations a Couette flow comprising Lennard-Jones and rigid crystalline walls, is examined function the fluid-solid interaction strength. Two different types thermal behavior are observed, namely, slippery sticky cases. first characterized steep unlimited increase slip length at low temperatures, while second presents vanishing in this regime. As increases relation to characteristic value, both cases converge finite lengths. A recently proposed analytical model found well describe behaviors, also predicting slippery-sticky transition that occurs critical value parameter, for which, according model, particles experience smooth average energy landscape interface.

Biomimetic polyimide nanotube arrays with slippery or sticky superhydrophobicity.
In this paper, we report the fabrication of superhydrophobic polyimide (PI) nanotube arrays with different topographies, which possess slippery or "sticky" superhydrophobicity. The PI nanotube arrays were fabricated by the porous alumina membrane molding method. We regulated three kinds of solvent evaporation and drying processes, which controlled different congregated and noncongregated topogr...

متن کاملInterfacial slip in sheared polymer blends.
We have developed a dynamic self-consistent field theory, without any adjustable parameters, for unentangled polymer blends under shear. Our model accounts for the interaction between polymers, and enables one to compute the evolution of the local rheology, microstructure, and the conformations of the polymer chains under shear self-consistently. We use this model to study the interfacial dynam...
متن کاملWhen do fluid membranes engulf sticky colloids?
Binding of a spherical colloid to a fluid membrane, which is an interplay between the energies of adhesion and elastic deformation, is studied within the framework of a Helfrich Hamiltonian. The solution of the full nonlinear shape equations for the membrane profile reveals a continuous binding and a discontinuous envelopment transition, the latter with a tension dependent substantial energy ba...
